Michael T. Cooper is an American evangelical missiologist and missiological theologian best known for coining and building out **"Ephesiology"** — the study of the first-century church-planting movement centered in Ephesus — as a framework for understanding and catalyzing contemporary movements. He is a scholar *and* a field practitioner: more than thirty years in missions, roughly ten of them as a pioneer church planter in Romania after the fall of communism, alongside an academic résumé that runs from a PhD in Intercultural Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School to guest lectures at the London School of Economics, the University of Bordeaux, Loyola University, and Baylor University.
